📊 PowerPoint Office Add-in User Guide
1️⃣ Plugin Overview
This add-in is integrated into Microsoft PowerPoint to help users process presentations more efficiently. It supports multiple operations such as translation, explanation, summarization, rewriting, and proofreading, suitable for:
- Reading and understanding foreign language presentations
- Writing and optimizing speech content
- Reviewing team slides
- Quickly generating presentation content summaries
2️⃣ Preparation Before Use
- Open the PowerPoint presentation.
- Launch the add-in (find and click it in the PPT menu bar → Add-ins section).
- Ensure the slide content is editable (not read-only).
3️⃣ Feature Description
📌 Mode Description
- Slide Mode: Perform operations on the entire slide.
- Selection Mode: Perform operations only on the selected text box or partial content.
The add-in will automatically switch available function buttons based on the mode.
🛠 Feature Menu
(1) Slide Mode
When no text is selected, the add-in operates on the entire current slide. The following features are available:
- Translate Slide: Translate each text box and replace the original content.
- Explain Slide: Extract all text on the page and provide a concise explanation.
- Summarize Slide: Generate a summary of the page content and provide evaluation and suggestions.
(2) Selection Mode
When a text box or part of the text is selected, the add-in only processes that content. The following features are available:

Translate Selection: Translate into the specified language and replace the original text.

Rewrite & Optimize: Optimize the selected text, with options to:
- Rewrite
- Simplify
- Expand
- Listify
- Outline

Explain: Provide a concise explanation of the selected content.

Proofread: Check for spelling and grammar errors; if no issues are found, it will prompt "No issues found".
4️⃣ Operation Steps
Example 1: Translate Entire Slide
- Open the presentation → Launch the add-in.
- Do not select any text.
- Click Translate → Select the target language (e.g., "English").
- The add-in will translate each text box and replace it with the translated text.
Example 2: Translate Selected Text
- Select a text box or part of a sentence.
- Click Translate → Select the target language.
- The add-in will directly replace it with the translated text.
Example 3: Rewrite & Optimize
- Select a paragraph of text.
- Click Rewrite & Optimize → Choose a style such as "Simplify/Expand/Listify", etc.
- The add-in will replace it with the optimized content.
Example 4: Summarize Slide
- Open a slide with a large amount of information.
- Click Summarize.
- The add-in will generate a summary and provide suggestions for improvement.
5️⃣ Interface Description
- Toolbar: Displays function buttons, which vary depending on the mode.
- Icon Prompt: 📊 indicates slide mode; 👤 indicates selection mode.
- Close Button: Clears the current session or exits the add-in.
6️⃣ QA Testing Points
- Whether the function buttons switch correctly according to the mode (slide/selection).
- Whether the translation maintains the original text box position and format.
- Whether the proofreading feature correctly detects errors and prompts "No issues found" when there are none.
- Whether the rewriting styles (simplify/expand/listify/outline) meet expectations.
- Whether the add-in's close button can clear the session state.
- Whether the add-in can correctly recognize the current page when switching slides multiple times.
7️⃣ Notes
- The add-in depends on PowerPoint's editing permissions; please ensure the slides are not locked.
- Translation and rewriting operations will directly replace content; it is recommended to back up your document before formal use.
- Operating on large presentations page by page may take some time; please be patient.
